div Drawing widely on her Icelandic and Jewish roots, Danish singer/songwriter idaBjörg Leisin paints musical landscapes as far reaching as the open skies of Scandinavia. Her voice moves smoothly between angelic hypnosis, down-to-earth simplicity and powerful discharges of energy, all delivered with a passionate conviction aimed straight at the heart of the listener.
Writing songs since the age of nine on both piano and guitar, idaBjörg is no stranger to creative expression, following up those earlier inspirations with a voice and music conservatory education in Copenhagen. In the late nineties, the electronic music-scene also caught her attention, resulting in the project “Genspejl†-in which she currently uses her gifts at language play in Danish.
In the summer of 2005, her invited participation in a Listening Room International Songwriters' Retreat brought a strong response and significant evolution in her writing and performing, as evidenced in her recent recordings.
