About Barb (in Jimmy Buffett style except with a 'G' rating) Born at Selfridge AFB, Michigan, favorite TV shows were 'American Bandstand' and 'Zorro', got a baby brother, moved several times, Dad died of lung cancer when I was six, vacationed in Yellowstone National Park and fell in love with the West, listened to WLS radio all the time, went to rock concerts while still in elementary school, liked the British bands expecially the Bee Gees, quit piano lessons (mistake), played tambourine and sang in garage bands, loved babysitting, got a drivers license and dreamed of owning a Mustang, got excellent grades but worked very hard for them, loved reading, twirled baton, wanted to learn to dance but didn't get lessons so just dreamed about dancing, loved John Denver, Fat City/Bill & Taffy, and Starland Vocal Band, made up music videos in my head before MTV existed, our house and car blew away in a tornado but the family and dogs were OK, got a BA in Elementary Education, Nursery-Kindergarten Education and Child Development from Purdue University, Moved to Pine Ridge Indian Reservation (Ogalala Sioux)in South Dakota to teach first grade, moved to Colorado to teach, got a Masters Degree in Psychology, Counseling and Guidance from the University of Northern Colorado, fell in love with Mr. Wrong, became a school counselor, finally got my Mustang, moved to Southern California, had a baby, moved back to Indiana, built a house, settled down, raised my son, became a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, worked as a therapist and teacher in an Alternative School with some fantastic kids, taught at a juvenile facility for a second job, often worked a third job, became son's personal chauffeur to Bach Chorale choir rehearsals, PMO Kids Choir Rehearsals, piano lessons, voice lessons, dance lessons, dance competitions, play practices, etc., son got to sing in NYC at Ground Zero--very moving, son won a Triple Threat Award, I became a Harry Potter-fanatic who makes random Harry Potter references just to see who gets them, found three family members I didn't know existed--THANK YOU WENDY!, my students talked me into getting a MySpace page (OK, you guys were right--it is fun!),we visited CT to meet our new family members on the one year anniversary of finding out about them!, worked too much, played too little, ready to enjoy life again...(Written by Jon:I have an amazing 17-year-old son, Jon, whom I love very dearly.
