Ani and the flowers
Anja Aerschmann, alias Ani comes from the small village of Alterswil on the edge of the Swiss Alps. She was born in 1975 and started composing her first song to play for friends at the age of 15.
Ani played her first concerts solo or accompanied by a pianist. From concert to concert her audience grew and Ani began to look for a guitarist to harmonise her lyrics. That's when Daniel Ackermann came along.
The songs continued to flow and Ani's dream came true at last. Together with Daniel, she released her first album, a jazz/folk work "Once there was a Prince ..." that raised Ani's profile across Switzerland.
Ani has always got her inspiration for her music and melancholy from what she sees and hears around her as well as from well known artists such as Tori Amos, Heather Nova and Amie Mann.
The second album will be published in the autumn 2007.

Ani and the flowers
Anja Aerschmann alias Ani ist ihres Zeichens Senslerin und hat das Licht der Welt 1975 in Alterswil erblickt. Anja fing mit dem Komponieren ihrer ersten Lieder in ihrem 15. Lebensjahr an und führte diese im Kreise ihrer Familie und Freunde auf.
Ani trat an ihren ersten Konzerten noch Solo oder in Begleitung eines Pianisten auf. Die immer grössere Zahl ihrer Bewunderer bewegte die junge Künstlerin sich einen talentierten Gitaristen zu suchen, den Freiburger Gitaristen Daniel Ackermann(Gitarrenspieler von Marvin, der 2004 gegründeten Gruppe), der es versteht Anis Texte perfekt mit seiner Musik harmonieren zu lassen.
Gewappnet mit einem übermütigen, kreativen Output an Texten kann Ani endlich ihren Traum verwirklichen und die beiden bringen ihr erstes mit Jazz- und Folkelementen gewürztes Album "Once there was a Prince ..." heraus, das ihnen zum Durchbruch in der Romandie und der Deutschschweiz verhilft.
Ani findet ihre Inspiration schon seit jeher aus ihrem eigenen Umfeld, aber auch bei Künstlern wie Tori Amos, Heather Nova oder Aimie Mann.
Ihr zweites Album wird im Herbst 2007 veröffentlicht und wird ohne jeden Zweifel von sich hören lassen.
