At age 15, he started his own band and performed a mixture of original and cover songs at clubs and bars all over the state of Pennsylvania. In 1995, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue a songwriting career and signed a publishing deal with Best Built Songs. Doug spent the next few years honing his craft, performing at many songwriting venues in Nashville, including the Bluebird Café and Douglas Corner Café. As a songwriter and co-writer, Doug has had his songs recorded by many independent artists from all over the country.
During his time at Best Built Songs, Doug had recorded a number of original demos and work tapes. But in 2005, he decided it was time to get back to his roots as a performing artist and record an “official” album. He began working with co-producers Tim Grogan and Rod Lewis at Studio 515 in Nashville. This resulted in the 2006 release of “Crazy Gravity”, a collection of 13 original songs featuring Tim Grogan on drums and keyboards, Rod Lewis on bass, with Greg Foresman and Howard Buckwold on electric guitars.
“Crazy Gravity” is on the independent Rev Records - USA label and is available now .
