About Me

I am a graphic designer working at the British Library, and I absolutely love it, although I wish they paid more! I work with great people, who are a terribly bad influence on me and they will be blamed when my liver eventually packs up!I love photography, especially photographing live gigs, you can see some of my work at www.hanbag.net, and in the album sleeve of the amazing 'X' by the Mexicolas!
This band are fantastic! The Mexicolas, I have every faith that these guys are going to be big...
I live in London, but split my time between London and Huntingdon at the moment, and I love them both! I have so many great friends in both places and they are the reason I get moaned at for not being able to sit still! Just for the record... I am not out EVERY night... I have a beautiful little nephew called Daniel who turned 4 at the beginning of the year and is starting school this september, and I now have a gorgeous new niece called Holly! She will be 1 in July. A little sister for Daniel and a new little person to spoil!
Music is my biggest passion in life, but I can't sing or play a note. I love rock music, I love seeing bands play live, I love listening to music as much as I can, sometimes I come across a band that just blows me away, and for that I thank them, I wouldn't know who I was if I didn't have my rock! (and Take That, I know!)
I love to travel, something I hope to do a hell of a lot more of in the future, there are so many places I haven't seen and I would like to change that. I want to go everywhere and see everything! Vancouver is still my favourite place in the world, and I plan to move out there by the time I am 30, so I will have to see a lot of Europe before then while it's still easy and cheap to get to!
I love to meet new people, I love how just doing so can open your mind up to so many new things and allows for so many new experiences to happen.
I also love beer. And tea.

My Interests

I love Rock music and I go to gigs as much as I can, and then a bit more...usually see a couple of gigs a week on average! I love to travel & see new places, although I have fallen in love with Canada, & will deffo be going back in the future. I love design, I couldn't picture myself doing any other job, although if I could combine design and music, I would be in heaven! I'm also a bit of a film lover, I may as well have my very own lending library here, my dvd's seem to get everywhere! Especially my 24 box sets!

I'd like to meet:

Nikki Sixx...in fact, all of the Crue...

James Dean (might be tough)

Andy Kauffman (depends if he really is dead or not)

Johnny Depp (who wouldnt!)

Jerry Cantrell and James Hetfield, but I wouldn't know what to say even if I did!

Keifer Sutherland, Keifer Sutherland Keifer Sutherland!

People who love music as much as I do, people with a passion for life, people who want to meet new people!

Zen Motel... new album out and it is fantastic... I hope they go far!!! They sure deserve to. Love you guys too!!

Heaven's Basement... What can I say, they rock.

Music:

Rock, rock, rock and more rock!!!!The boys from (ex) Roadstar, Terrorvision, Ariel-X, Zen Motel, Nine Inch Nails, Dissociatives, 3 Doors Down, Johnny Panic, InMe, Septembre, Lifehouse, Green Day, Motley Crue, Soundgarden, Audioslave, Papa Roach, Default, Stereophonics, The Glitterati, The Ga*Ga*s, Mindwire, Juliette and the Licks, Mark Owen, Alice in Chains, Feeder, Disturbed, Span, Billy Idol, Velvet Revolver, Korn, Incubus, Kings Of Leon, Nickelback, Thunder, The Eagles, Thornley, Aerosmith, Metallica, Papa Roach, Lukan, Vex Red, Bush, Marner Brown, Namaste, The Mexicolas...these guys are going to be huge, check them out if you haven't already... Love you guys. xxx

Breed77 are one of my fave bands... so far I have seen them 31 times, I know it's a lot, but if you like them...then why not! It's nowhere near enough! Fantastic band, especially live (duh).

I'm loving ProtoAngel... www.protoangel.com, check out their stuff... fantastic live, fantastic recorded, stunning voice and stunning tunes... the e.p is out now!! Love you guys too! :D

I will also admit I have recently regressed to being a teenager after going to see Take That last summer!! Twice!!! I also spent 2 1/2 hours before managing to get hold of tickets for their tour this december... am still in love with Mark Owen after all these years!!!

Rocco Deluca and the Burden are also constantly on my stereo at the moment, I am in awe of that band, they give me goose bumps, and they are the lovliest, most humble band I have met in a long time! I'm lucky to have seen them 4 times already, but come back here again please!

Aerosmith at Hyde Park this summer was amazing... (especially as they were supported by the lovely Mr Chris Cornell...I manage to see him 5 times this year! It's never enough... ) I knew that after spending $700 on planes, trains and automobiles to see Aerosmith and Motley Crue in Chicago last year, they would come back to the UK! Am not complaining though...one of the best gigs I have EVER been to!

Juliette and the Licks; great band, great sound. She is beautiful & mesmerizing, amazing albums, go see her live! (Took this picture at ULU in 2006.)

Am loving this pic of Jonny Rocker. I took this at the Sugarmill in Stoke. These guys are so good live, Check out Heaven's Basement... my tip for 2008!

I go to more gigs than I can afford, so far this year I have seen I have seen Breed 77, Marner Brown, Zen Motel (and again), NIN (oh my word!– intense), ProtoAngel (times a few...), Towers of London, Aerosmith, Velvet Revolver, Motley Crue, Download Festival, The Mexicolas, Hinder, Rod Stewart, Marner Brown, Hinder, Black Stone Cherry, Proud Mary (Greg, you rock, love you honey), Incubus, 30 Seconds To Mars, Proud Mary, CJ & The Satellites, Breed 77, Chris Cornell was absolutely amazing... what a cracking gig... fantastic set, he looked stunning...! And I must thank the boys I was with for actually letting me say that numerous times without yelling at me... I thought I would have to keep the drooling under control being the only girl!

Coming up though, I am seeing Breed 77, The Eagles, Velvet Revolver, Nick Cave, Vast, Greg Griffin, Russell Brand, Heaven's Basement... although I am sure many more will be added to that!Managed to see Lenny Kravitz at the Koko and the Mexicolas last week... Ace, absolutely brilliant...

Said beautifully by Edward Monkton:

Movies:

I love films, all sorts, no one style. Amongst (many!) others; Napoleon Dynamite, Garden State, Finding Neverland, Labryinth, Die Hard, Monty Python (all of, but fave is Holy Grail!), Harry Potter, LOTR, Lost Boys, Dirty Dancing, Muppet Christmas Carol, Rear Window, Bridget Jones, Love Actually, Under the Tuscan Sun, The Pianist, Mystic River, All (3) of James Dean's films and pretty much anything with Johnny Depp!

And about a million more ....

Television:

The Mighty Boosh... I'm addicted... Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, The IT Crowd, 24... I like watching things on DVD, ass and when I want to, rather than sitting in front of the tv watching crap!

Books:

I like my rock biographies, The Dirt - amazing, however much of it is true! Can't wait for the film! Tommyland, Marilyn Manson, Anthony Keidis among others. I love Paulo Coehlo, his books deffo make you reflect on things a lot. I'm into my classics as well, books I think I should read and then am pleasantly surprised about! On the road by Jack Keroac. Anything by Hunter S Thompson but especially Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and Hells Angels. George Orwell, Animal Farm, Down and Out in Paris and London, 1984. I am trying to read a lot of books about Che Guevara, just to see if I really do agree with the fact his image seems to be on everything & if you are interested, am not sure I do agree with it, but I won't start debating it here! If I'm looking for light reading, I love Jane Green books, Jemima J is fantastic. Also love Harlan Coben. I love my books, I get through so many. I could go on and on! Any recommendations, I would love to hear them! Especially if they are currently on offer anywhere ...AND I CAN'T WAIT FOR HARRY POTTER!!!!

Heroes:

Anyone who is happy with who they are, loves what they do and isn't scared to try their damndest to fulfill their dreams. Basically people who are everything I want to be!
