About Me

The Texas Tech Alumni Association of Comal County was established in 1984. With over 600 Alumni in Comal County, the Association has become one of the most active chapters in the state of Texas. Currently, the Comal County chapter is the fourth most active chapter in the state with member from New Braunfels as well as surrounding areas such as Schertz and San Marcos. The Association’s mission is to provide financial support to local high school seniors who have chosen Texas Tech University for their higher education needs. This financial support comes in the form of scholarships given out yearly. Since its inception, the Texas Tech Alumni Association of Comal County has provided over $30,000 in valuable scholarship monies. However, our mission is not simple. With the rising cost of tuition, the Association continues to find creative ways to raise money to meet the growing demands of increased college costs. The Association hosts two events a year; Red Raider Round Up and the University Scholarship Challenge Golf Tournament. This past year, the Association gave out five $1,000 scholarships and several “Raider Camp” attendance scholarships.Over the last year, the Association has increased the visibility of the local chapter by hosting game watching parties, advertising in the local newspaper and radio, and hosting monthly social hours. As we move forward, we are continuously looking for more ways to enhance the vision and mission of our chapter, all while helping promote local businesses that may have ties to Texas Tech University.
