Where's the fire, what's the hurry about? You better cool it off before you burn it out...

About Me

At first, I joined MySpace just to look at pictures of hot chicks (and we all know my theory on hot chicks) but I slowly grew attached to it and now I rarely ever use Facebook.
I never know what to write in these things. Let me give you the basics.
I'm Zach. I think most people know that who are reading this because I don't think the picture of me in a bar is going to drive people to add me.
I have two jobs. I'm a waiter/bartender and a store owner. I like working in the restaurant. I hate ice cream.
I refuse to go to school... although I probably should. I'm currently on my 3rd semester off from Hofstra. As they say in Mexican, "No beuno."
I have 4 tattoos and no piercings, although I used to have 3 piercings and no tattoos. My holes closed up and I think that if I get them now, people will see it as a mid-life crisis. Yes, a 23-year-old mid-life crisis.
I like rock music (OAR, Nirvana, Bush, Live, old Pearl Jam, Metallica, OLP), but none of this new crap rock. I also like country music (Kenny Chesney, Big & Rich) but most of it is over-produced crap so I find myself listening to a lot of alt-country bands like Cross Canadian Ragweed and some Pat Green and Bobby Pinson.
I like to make people smile and I like to write. Okay, I'm lying. I do like to make people smile and I hate writing, but I like having a finished piece of something so I can look back on it and pat myself on the back.
I love hockey & softball. Rangers... oh baby! I bleed blue and live & die by hockey. I play first base or anything in the infield, and I refer to hockey as "The Sport of Kings - Like Chess, But on Ice."
I'm a writer. I'm a dreamer. I wear my heart on my sleeve. I don't know what that phrase means.
Feel free to add me if I know you from high school or college or anywhere. I accept everyone except guidos. It would be cool to hear from people I've lost touch with through time.

My Interests

New York Rangers... is there much else?

If I had to choose other stuff besides hockey...
movies, music (rock & country), finding new songs to put on my iPod, hockey, comedy, politics, alcohol, cute girls with dimples, screenwriting, good lyrics, gambling, and TiVo

I also love a good 6-foot hero on a bagel. And breakfast foods.

I'd like to meet:

People who are interesting. People who can talk about other things other than themselves. (The ability to hold a conversation for more than 37 seconds is a big plus also.) People who share my ideas and people who don't but can come up with good reasons for disagreeing. People who can hold their own. And chicks. Lots of chicks. Holding alcohol.Oh, and Jesus. I think he'd make a sick beer pong partner.

Music:

Country - Bobby Pinson, Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith, Pat Green, Big & Rich, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Charlie Robison

Rock - OAR, Bush, Live, Nirvana, Metallica, Pearl Jam, Led Zeppelin, Brand New

Movies:

Braveheart, American Beauty, Point Break, Young Guns I & II, Suicide Kings, Sleepers, City of God

Television:

24

Arrested Development, Miami Ink, Seinfeld, CSI, Family Guy, Titus, Veronica Mars (RIP), Charlie, and whatever else TiVo records for me.

But mostly 24.

Books:

Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
A Tender Bar by J.R. Moehringer
The Eight by Katherine Neville
Dain Curse by Dashielle Hammet

I used to be a big fan of the Hardy Boy books by Franklin W. Dixon until I found out that his real name was Leslie and that he actually hated writing the books. I can't be passionate about readiong a book if I know the author wasn't passionate about writing it. I honestly don't read that much anymore (besides magazines - EW, ESPN, Country Weekly, Stuff, Maxim) although I want to. I own a ton that I haven't started yet - books on stand-up comedy, politics, writing, mysteries, etc.

Heroes:

James Madison, Henrik Lundqvist, and ham & cheese with lettuce, tomato, and mayo.

I also love the giant bagel hero.

Greetings from Nashville - Part 1...

If 23 year-old Zach told 17 year-old Zach that he would see Michelle Branch, Reba McEntire, and Kelly Clarkson in concert in one night, 17 year-old Zach would (try to) kick 23 year-old Zach's ass. The...

Hello, 2007... (it's short, I promise)

Goodbye, 2006. I won't miss you. Oh, you had your moments, but the bad outweighs the good. I would do a month-by-month analysis, but I really don't remember much in order. Everything seems to be a bl...
