Ellerman are far from predictable. Their aggressive, guitar-heavy assault is as passionate as it is powerful yet they incorporate layered arrangements and subtle passages that are often quite beautiful. The band members’ diverse musical influences work together to manifest a unique hybrid that forms the basis of
Ellerman’s ‘signature’ sound. But don’t expect your average run-of-the-mill Alternative Metal band. With
Ellerman, ‘expectations’ and ‘predictability’ are not part of their plan.
The band’s sound is laced with densely layered guitars, driving rhythm, and merciless yet soulful and melodic vocals. Never content to indulge in the darker, hopeless side of life, the musical landscape that
Ellerman inhabits is one that is filled with shadows and light. For every battle that is lost, there is an opportunity that is gained and
Ellerman always end up victorious.
Ellerman are, in essence, a brilliant and innovative band; a culmination of intuitive lyricism and an aggressive sense of purpose that commands the listener's attention. To experience
Ellerman is not just to hear them but also to feel them.

BAND SYNOPSIS:
It's hard to find a moment as exciting as when it becomes undeniably clear that a band is coming close to breakthrough.
Best characterized as a distinctively powerful sound,
Ellermans 2002 debut,
Invent the Sun, has already sold thousands of copies through word of mouth and the strength of the bands online networking. Diverse influences worked together to manifest a unique hybrid, evidenced by tracks like
"Medusa" and
"The Portal", which feature lushly layered arrangements and a soulful vocal style. Produced by
Ellerman and mixed by
Alex Vishno at
Sound Image in Van Nuys, CA,
Invent the Sun is a textured sound collage that builds on
Ellerman's trademark sound. From beginning to end,
Invent the Sun marks
Ellerman's birth as a brilliant and innovative band; a culmination of intuitive lyricism and an aggressive sense of purpose that has highlighted hard work and begs you to listen.
Ellermans second release,
Welcome the Coward, is an opus 2 years in the making. What began as a 3 song EP soon became a 7 track full-length filled with tales of
deceit, betrayal, love, hate, corporate greed, backstabbers and liars. Building upon their signature sound laced with densely layered guitars, driving rhythm, and merciless yet melodic vocals,
Welcome The Coward is
Ellermans finest work to date yielding the anthemic singles
Liar In The Crowd,
The Innocent, and
Nosferatu., Originally laid to tape with the help of
Porno for Pyros Peter DiStefano in 2003 at Los Angeles renowned
West Lake Audio Studios,
Welcome the Coward was later re-recorded in the high desert of Ojai, CA, with the help of sound engineers
Jeff Evans and
Ken Eros at
Zircon Skye Production.
Since their inception in 2002,
Ellerman has played countless dates throughout Southern California in landmark clubs such as the
House of Blues,
Whisky A Go-Go,
The Roxy Theatre, The El Rey, The Viper Room, The Knitting Factory, The Galaxy Theatre, The Coach House, Chain Reaction, The Joint, and the now defunct
Liquid Den. Along the way they have won over fans in their opening slots for
Fu Manchu,
Death By Stereo,
Onesidezero,
Stavesacre,
Nonpoint,
Skindred and many others.
Ellermans future sound can only be described as an enlightenment of astonishing musical growth.
