Lizzy Scurr : It all started right for me when my dad bought me a guitar at 10 or 11 years old, a 3/4 classic with nylon strings (later kicked off my bed in fury at 16 because I couldn’t get that Metallica balad just right) and at 13 my first electric. A Weststone Thunder IIA xxxxing marvelous! That, an ampli and a Boss wah wah I was set to become Cumbria’s best equipped groupie. Where are the Loser Kids? SugarBlast? and C.R.A.P? (chronic retarded and proud) There had to be more to life than Sellafield, so i moved. Inbetween is all abit vague and not surprisingly but then...... I met a crazy French Man who liked my songs and my skillfull little fingers on the fret board. 12 hours a day 7 days a week later a quick recording at southampton st (thanks Nick) and walli walou a gig on the one world stage at WOMAD and a small set in the red stripe tent at
Bracknell.Things couldn’t get better so we moved , this time across the water and down abit to Collias, Provence Something called Intermittant de Spectackle? Nevermind I need the time in summer to look after my garden. With summer gone and winter on the way we locked ourselves in the kitchen (because it had no windows) and switched the aplifires on and created Spin Out, a electric pop version of our favourite songs. Jilly Myhill adding her good vibrations, Karim banging his bass and Jean Louis cooked up his samples which were then played ..boards or by Steff nounours on the drums. We played premiere partie to group Super 8 (formally known as machination) at La Gare a coustellet (great caf.. concert!) On a tout fait pet..!! hee hee.
Time came for change again, Seasons Passed and fuse were formed, born in an allotment next to rasperrys and olive trees. AkA mika Double bass and his bow with me and jean louis in an acoustic trio This time we staged it on theatre at the Aliz.. in Avignon. Combl.. Satisfait we had a little monkey (Dylan) I had to show him to my family so we went to Ireland. Their I discovered different ways to accord my guitar, the best rashers ever and Bodran playing. I managed to find one that doesn’t just hang on your wall I brought it back put it on the shelf instead.
Now I’m still with my crazy french man, and weve moved again, this time not far, just to Avignon Where we play concerts here and there and try our best to promote and diffuse local groups aswell as ourselves.
