Sounds Like: ALTA QUOTA The songs which make up this album are all original compositions, composed and arranged by the members of the trio. In “Samba do Lula (Lula”s Samba)”, written by Marco Cremaschini, we find a typical Brazilian atmosphere, with a traditional Batukade rhythm. It’s a song dedicated to President Lula, bringer of hope to Brazil and the entire of South America for a better future.“Alta Quota” is a classic ‘70’s bugaloo inspired by the Brescian jazz club theater bearing the same name, famous for it’s unforgettable musical adventures.“General Cluster” is a blues tune, and there in it is well evident the jazz background of the trio as well as their familiarity with the language of be bop, demonstrated also in the song “Organology”. “39” is a delicate bossa nova by Luciano Poli dedicated to their very dear friend recently deceased.Characteristic of the trio we find the desire to communicate to the audience not merely the ”jazz thread”, through personalizing the melodies and rhythm’s they move closer to funk and lounge music, as in the tune “Maracaibo” by Marco Cremaschini. To conclude, the virtuosity of the three musicians stands out in the improvisations included in the song “Pentaus” where we find a Canovaccio rhythm inspired by the celebrated “Take Five”.
