Thanks to everyone for supporting the Digital PsyKosis moniker/project throughout the last decade. However, the "rave" scene in the Midwest...like everything else...is ever changing and I just don't see myself being a part of it anymore. I know everyone says that I've said that before, but this time it's real. I have sold all of my records and have been selling off all of my DJ equipment one piece at a time...I had my 15 minutes and have built another, even more successful life for myself, so it is time for me to turn the page on this chapter of my life and move on.
For those that have stuck by me from the days of the Collective Intelligence Arsenal and [dnalabs], thank you especially. It's been a long time since those days and we have all watched the scene degrade despite the efforts of those who wished it would never end. For those that supported us for so long at In the Groove, thank you as well. You saw that despite the fact that we are human and make mistakes too, our love for the scene and our integrity to try and do the right thing was worth supporting.
Unfortunately, doing the right thing, keeping quality events going, and preserving what this scene was all about takes a whole lot of love, time, and money...love I got, time and money I don't. We saw the best in people who love the scene at NYE (07/08) for Tri-State Love II. It felt great to run around the Gym Club jammed to the rafters and know that there are still plenty of people out there who love the scene for what it was and what it could still be. Unfortunately, *most* local promoters that we hoped would follow suit and keep a good thing going in 2008, decided to take a turn for the worse, and the scene once again suffered due to the focus of dealing drugs and doing cheap parties instead of pulling in genuine ravers and putting on a show with decent production value. All things being equal, I know the scene thrives in other parts of the country, but here it might as well be dead...and I for one am done trying to bring it back to life. I'll always love the music and the people I met through it...but it's time to move on, for me anyway.
However, I am leaving this page up for a few reasons. The most significant of which is to reminisce. Another is for contact purposes. I met a lot of people out there over the years so, if you ever want a copy of a CD that I made, or if you just want to say hi, please feel free to hit me up at
[email protected] PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE ME A MESSAGE HERE, as chances are I will probably not check this account anymore...however, feel free to leave all the comments you like.
I think it is also worth noting that I have not totally gave up on music altogether, either. I do have some side projects I have been working on for a while and maybe if I can come up with something decent, I will release something just to see how it goes. Until then, though...thank you again to everyone who supported Digital PsyKosis from CIA to DNA to ITG to now.
