We got started in February of 2007. Alex Latham and TJ Murphy, of Gardner, KS, started the band with Alex on Guitar and vocals and TJ on Drums. They then brought Patricia, TJ's sister, into the band ..board, and their friend Moses on bass. They started playing and writing all their own stuff. They then decided they needed a lead singer, so talked to Alex Goering, of Spring Hill, KS, who immediately agreed to join the band. Moses later left the band because he was too busy, and planned to move to Ireland to live with his grandfather. A Dire New Hope was in desperate need of a bassist as their first show arrived. Alex Goering had some friends from other schools in the area that were fellow musicians. He talked to Ryan Dinyer, Prairie Village, KS. Ryan quickly learned the bass, and immediately decided to join the band. A Dire New Hope plans to go to Kansas University together, and continue to work together and play shows. Ryan and Alex Goering both left the band due to conflicting interests in styles. Then, in the winter of 09', Josh Poindexter sprang up to the idea of singing for the band. The band liked the way his voice fit with the alternative style in which the music was supposed to fit. Nathan Long also entered the band as the bassist in the winter of 09', and immediately got to work on learning all the bands music.
Nathan Long has slowly decayed away from the band, in summer of '09, so A Dire New Hope went on search for another bassist. On our journey forward we have run in to an exceptional bass player Sterling Bridgom, and we are now training him for upcoming shows. Also, we have picked up another member, Sean Mcconville, he will be playing Guitar also, adding some more depth to the sound A Dire New Hope is now heading towards. In the winter of '09, A Dire New Hope plans on starting to record our Album, we have all new music, and are better than ever.
