About Me

Marty: Those guys are your friends? They're here every Sunday. We call 'em the drunken, dry heavin', cheese eatin' outhouse boys. They're your friends?
Willie: Well, they're acquaintances, really.
Albert Einstein once said “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results”.
Sometimes I go about in pity for myself and all the while a great wind carries me across the sky. ~Ojibwe saying

I am a 45 year old guy looking to meet new people and make new friends.
I have two awesome kids and a crazy black lab/giraffe mix.
I like to see bands at bars and concerts, go to fairs and festivals although I don't go as much as I used to and I really want to change that. I like riding motorcycles, camping and hunting. I like to downhill ski but haven't gone for a couple years, I would like to learn to snow board too if my back can take it.
I am a jeans and t-shirt kind of guy but don't mind dressing up occassionally. I am pretty down to earth, value honesty above all, and don't really put much emphasis on material possesions. My family is very important to me, as are my friends.
I am an eternal optimist, I have a strong sense of faith but little time for organized religion. I am a strong advocate of helping people out, whether by donation or by volunteering my time. I'd like to be able to do more. I am generally disgusted by politics, and I'm not quite sure where I fall if I were to try to label myself.
I like sports but I am not a fanatic by any means. I follow the Vikings a bit, and baseball and hockey are OK but better experienced live.
I am a moderate drinker, more often in the summer than the winter, and I smoke a little here and there. I've never had a one night stand (and don't have any desire to have one). I have a pretty good sense of humor and a somewhat dry wit. I like movies, candle lit dinners and taking walks in the moonlight holding hands... ok, I was just checking to see if you were still reading this.
I've yet to find anything that I felt strongly enough about to have it permanently inked into my skin but I won't rule out the possibility. If I could ever verify my family crest, that would be a possibility.

Why is it?

Why is it that the people you care about the most are always the ones that hurt you the most?
