The Dog House

About Me

The Dog House was established in 1995 as LA's FIRST Dog Daycare center. Our unique space provides natural light, fresh air, and plenty of room to play or observe. Rowdy or shy, big or small, a dog can feel comfortable here! Our experienced staff is on hand at all times to make sure dogs are happy and naughty-free!
The Dog House is not the fanciest daycare in town... which is perfectly ok with us, 'cos dogs care NOT about fancy! We have been told we are the most dog-friendly daycare in town, though! Our knowledgeable pack handlers and talented grooming staff take great care of the pack, and over the years we've been lucky enough to have bonded with LA's most amazing dogs!
The layout of The Dog House, with the sunny main floor, back "ball tossing" hallway, stairway and pool patio provide perfect spots to romp or rest. We do have a smaller area perfect for the shy, elderly, or just plain lazy; we call it The Club Room. For those in need of some quiet time away from the group, there is a suite available in The Zen Den.
If you are interested in having your dog join our pack, please call 323-549-9663 to schedule a "meet & greet" prior to your dogs' first day. We evaluate each dog individually and with other dogs, and gather important information from you during this important visit. It is also very helpful for your dog to have visited with us once before being dropped off - familiar faces and smells help create a smooth introduction!
The Dog House does not segregate large and small dogs, so we must take extra caution to evaluate behavior and body language of each dog. A dog who appears to be overly stressed, or is becoming a troublemaker, will be sent home. We are not accepting any new Pit Bull Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, and many mixes thereof.
For more specific information, including our daycare rates (which are the lowest in town!) try our website at http://doghousela.com, or call 323.549.9663. We do not list an email address for general inquiries, because being in front of the computer is not our priority - supervising the dogs is : )
The Dog House is proud to have been a part of dogs' lives all these years! We support local and national non-profit groups dedicated to the welfare of animals, especially homeless dogs and cats. The Dog House actively contributes funds or services to groups such as: Best Friends Animal Society and Best Friends LA Programs, New Leash On Life, Ace of Hearts, Animal Avengers, The Rescue Train, PAWS LA, SPCA LA, Alley Cat Allies, Westside German Shepherd Rescue, The Paw'd Squad .......
