About Me
When most of her friends were playing with Barbies, Diana Blake and another girl just as weird, Betty Cunningham, set up a mad scientist laboratory in her basement. (MUST be spoken in a sinister, mysterious voice and pronounced "la-BOR -a- tory"!)The clues to who we really are can often be found in our childhood. Of course, being oblivious, Diana missed the clues and took up singing opera. Years later in therapy, this was revealed to be her mother's passion, not hers, which could explain a series of unfortunate events. (It's apparently distracting to hear uncontrollable laughter during the tragic cherry blossom scene in Madame Butterfly. Sorry, Professor Larson!)Years later while undergoing chemo (cue the music), Diana met Martin Sage who showed her how to use her skills as a Black Belt Drama Queen, a penchant for finding humor at clearly inappropriate moments, and her ability to see the performer in everyone (yes, everyone) to create her own unique business. So, welcome to Diana's mad scientist laboratory, aptly named Sage Theater, where she regularly puts business people in her shows and the audience on stage. Here, we are experimenting with relationships, the audience connection, coaching tools, leadership training, communication, curiosity and, most important, how to have a bunch of grown-ups on stage and in the audience forget themselves (or, actually, remember themselves) and have a lot of fun. It just looks like a "show".So stay as long as you like, meet everyone and come back often. Who knows, you just may play an important part in how this experiment turns out.Betty, don't know where you are today, but here's hoping you're having fun in your very own la-BOR-a-tory!
