About Me

I am a pirate, looking at 40. I have met the woman of my dreams who I married on January 24, 2008. I am so happy to have her in my life. She and her daughter are now part of my life and I and my two children are part of hers. She is my Angel, and she is an answered prayer. We are happy. God has blessed us and we know and commit to remember the Source of our blessings.Food is my career passion, my artistic outlet and the means by which I will make a life for myself and my family.
My other passion allows me to stay fit, and to calm down and re-focus and that is when I ride and race my bicycles. I have secured some great sponsors recently (9 so far) and I am looking forward to my first season of criteriums and a few road races this year. I ride for Team Stolen Underground, an anti doping team created and led by Matt DeCanio. He has been scorned by professional cycling for years because of his refusal to stop being vocal about doping in professional cycling. Why bicycling? My bicycle is my release, my cave, my escape, my therapist, my zone. It is the island in the middle of nowhere, to which I escape to find myself. The pain and sweat bring me to myself and help me sort through the problems and concerns of my days. I pray often as I am in the saddle and it helps. On my bike I become fit and focused and keep my reflexes trained. I use my legs to push it forward and it uses that magic thing it does to push me through life each day. In addition to commuting and racing, I use my body and my bicycle to help raise money for causes which speak to my heart. There are more causes than there is time and I feel like I fall short sometimes. But, I do what I can.
