About Me

__
Sunday, November 12: About me right now: Should be working, that is: hastily creating a nice warm videowallpaper, lavalamp-style. feat. The Beatles. for the press-prelistening of 'Love'. Out of nothing. (Nice job, folks, to come up with the idea to do this in a cinema *before* thinking "hey, shouldn't we show something on the screen?") For about tomorrow morning. It's 18:36. Hm. But obviously I prefer to put my profile together and look up stupid stuff like this and that and post random videostills:

currently thinking about: Ah, so as a male I am, by default, supposed to be solely interested in females, 18-35, when I'm browsing? Interesting. That was new to me. Thank you, MySpace, for putting that straight. ||| "i love tv thats for sure and thanks to tivo i dont have to miss a thing!!" where is irony when you need it? ||| Pizza Studente or Pizza Romana? Or maybe Pizza Studente + onions? Phew, I have an interesting life! ||| More decisions: "Going underground" here tonight, drum'n'bass, party hard or... relaxing and playing Eve all night long on my real first day off since the end of october? ||| There once used to be something called 'common sense', right? What happened to it? ||| Oh, and while I'm at it, "common sense" - another unbelievable one ( for the german speakers & readers): Please god, please, let this be satire - the topic: it's not (as if a symptom could be the cause for anything) the violent "killer"-games, or the violent "killer"-videos (insert irony tags here) that lead to our (alas, without irony: beyond doubt) dumbass society ,... NO! It's the violent music! Such violent and aggression-fueling music as Billie Holiday, Radiohead, Sigur Ros and... well... just everything this no-brainer files under "entertainment-music", strictly contrary to "serious music" which equals, solely, Classic. Classic Classic without Avantgarde, that is... (I am a peaceful wimp, but - i can't help it - some people should learn what aggression and violence is. In their face. Whoa, wait! Evil thoughts! Must be my hearing habits, time to switch to "Ride of the Valkyries" , I guess,or is it my violent underpants?!) ||| ... how myspace sucks. Where is my picture? Why is the picture-link broken (because it isn't)? Why did i have to log into the german myspace several times? Why wasn't i able to access "edit profile" for several minutes? What happened to my custom 'online'-icon? baaah... ||| Err,what? Goethe-Institute? Georgia? Holding a lecture? When? In two weeks? ||| I wonder how many of the people listed here know that there is actually a country called Georgia? Not to speak about the question where it might be... ||| "Dear passenger, we apologize that you have encountered difficulties with your luggage and we recognize how inconvenient this can be. We will take immediate action to locate it with the help of an international airline tracking system."

"Go placidly amidst the noise and haste
and remember what peace there may be in silence
As far as possible without surrender,
be on good terms with all persons
Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others;
even the dull and ignorant, for they too have their story
Avoid loud and agressive persons for they are vexatious to the spirit
If you compare yourself with others you may become vain or bitter,
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your career, however humble,
for it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time
Exercise caution in your business life for everywhere there is trickery
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals,
and everywhere life is full of heroism
Be yourself
Especially do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love,
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings;
many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness
Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars.
You have a right to be here
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Be at peace with God, whatever you conceive him to be
And whatever your labours and aspirations, keep peace in your soul
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams it is still a beautiful world
Be cheerful
Strive to be happy."
Max Ehrmann 1927
