Grew up listening to my Dads vinyl Rock 'n' Roll records, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard,Fats Domino etc.
Started playing pots and pans then onto the real thing at about 12-14yrs.
Played in groups and school bands the only one not to read music, but improvised naturally.
Early 80's started busking after seeing Flip Out in the High st.
One line up included Lee Jefferies{Big Sandy}, a few changes Git Fiddle and the Frenchies was born a rockin' skiffle band.
Johnny Bowler{Guana Batz} was still learning double bass but joined later.
After a while Get Smart started, early support slots with Men They Could'nt Hang,Buddy Curtis and the Grasshoppers,Restless at Klubfoot.
Then offered Zorch Factor one on Nervous [It's up to You },
an album followed, i was replaced by Jimmy Fahye original drummer for The Krewmen with Carl Sonny Leyland who joined
Big Sandy for a while.
Later Johnny B joined Guana Batz.
The Roosters with Roy' Black Kat' phillips vocals, a have a laugh band playing Rock'n'Roll at parties, weddings, busking, having a good time and getting paid!
Sax player Pete, went onto music college and later joined Acoustic Ladyland and received a Mercury Award.
Various Blues bands followed, next was Tennessee Rhythm Riders,a 7 peice western swing outfit, six weeks after joining, France, Belgium, Germany, Holland, Switzerland.
Numerous trips abroad, and an American tour East Coast to West Coast including, New York, Austin, Nashville,Washington, San Francisco.
I feature on Step it up and go{Fury},Headin' West{Rundell}, C M A Award nominated Little Red Wagon[Studio 28}.
The band appeared on various Radio shows, tv shows and video, Pistol Boogie showed on VH1.
Then hooked up with Jim Jeffries in Rancho Deluxe,The Caravans followed,playing Europe,Scandinavia,America, featured on 1ST New York Rumble, Film/ Doc.
Gig in Rennes France saw the band involved in a serious car crash.
To get the story straight i suffered a Fractured Neck, Spine,Broken Ribs,Teeth, Toes, Chest, Hand, Head, injuries and Facial cuts and Bruises,and DID'NT walk away with a few broken teeth as written on a certain bands my space page.
Could'nt play for quite a long time, then different gigs came along, started The Borderlines with Choppy first Album on Foottapping Records, Big Money.
Got back with my buddy Jim Jeffries in Whip Crackin' Daddies, Choppy on Bass, Norway, Finland, albums nearly finished.
Also in The Dark Angels, The wretched Souls,currently working on both albums. The Black Kat Boppers,The 77's,also dep for various bands,Radio Ramblers, so keeping busy doing what i love, playing drums,and having fun.
