B i o g r a p h y :0)Laura Asensio Plaza was born in Barcelona, where she studied in different schools of theatre developing her own unique style. In this period she discovered her favourite school of theatre, The Jackes Lecoq in Barcelona where she learned many disciplines including clowning, buffon, mime, pantomime, object theater, melodrama, tragedy and comedy. Her main interest lies with clowning and she has done workshops with Eric De Bont and Jango Edwars.Laura has always had a great interest in children and has worked with both children and adults with learning disabilities, performing for them and giving workshops. She has toured all around Spain working with the clown puppet show company "Triatre" and has also worked alone using the name "Pipaclown" as a storyteller using puppetry and mime. She was involved with projects of Social/physical theatre on themes of violence and materialism which was brought to schools and theatres in Spain to increase awareness of these issues. In 2006 she developed her own show "The Clown&the Ring" which she has performed at the "Samuhin Fire Festival" in Aboyne, The Camphill Comunity in Aberdeen, at the Faroe Islands "Mjus Festival" and in Gilcomstoun Aberdeen School for the Comic Relief day.She has done clown improvisation for Storytelling Festival in Aberdeen for the past two years.As well as the theatre work and clowning which is her main passion she has also worked on a womens creative and activist radio programme in Barcelona as a joint presenter highlighting issues concerning women's rights.During the summer of 2005 destiny moved her to Scotland to be part of the clowndoctor programme with Hearts & Minds where she has worked in most of the major hospitals in Scotland.
