Fun, spontaneous, spur of the moment, friendship and high karate. those words best describe this band, Against The Stars. We changed the name 'cause someone in the band have difficulties saying words with a lot of syllables.(If you guys didn't know, we were formerly known as Splendid Adjustment)
The origins of this band can be traced back all the way to Sri Lanka 'cause there is where Ilyas(rhythm guitarist and vocalist) met Tarmizi a.k.a mizi(Lead guitars). They were there for a relief mission by the way. They became good friends there. Ilyas is a lover of punk rock since he was 13 and is a massive blink-182 fan while Tarmizi is heavily influenced by old skool punk. When you put 2 punk rockers together, what do you get? Noise of course.. hahaha!
Upon their return to the cool island of Singapore, the 2 learned that Nazree a.k.a Naz(drummer) who was their friend and coincidentally their classmate, was enthuastic about the drums. The three then jammed, covering songs from Green Day, Fall Out Boy, MCR, and many more punk rock acts. Not long after that, Ilyas recruited his good friend Faris(bassist) to play bass(obviously)
And that is when Against The Stars was born. 4 extremely handsome men playing pop-punk music that will help you in life. Our songs are based on friendships, love, body odour and the purple teletubby ("lala" issit? i don't know..)
With Ilyas's wacky personality, Mizi's music making power, Faris's cool stature and Naz's crazy beats, we will guide you guys.
So let's go! The boys from A.T.S will shine the light!!
