Dominican Joe Coffee Shop

About Me

The Dominican Joe Coffee Shop is located in the heart of Austin at the corner of South Congress and Riverside, next to Wells Fargo Bank and Freebirds Burrito ( map ). With a great menu, ample seating and parking, and free wireless, our goal is to provide a great atmosphere for both individuals and groups for any occasion.
Dominican Joe 's primary coffee is purchased from Makarios , an Austin-based non-profit organization doing educational development work in the Dominican Republic. Skipping the large corporate middle-man, Makarios works directly with farmers in the region and pays them higher wages and supports their communities in an effort to develop self-sustaining skills for the future.
Our coffee shop is all about doing something good in this world. Our aim is to be able to provide an enjoyable and inviting atmosphere for our customers while doing it the right way and having a positive impact on people. We started this project knowing that the coffee we sell will make a difference. We also expect to work with a variety of non-profits around Austin to have an impact here in town, and will constantly be looking for new ways to do everything we do the right way.
