This episode picks up about 5 months after the death of Marissa with Seth working at a comic book store instead of going to college. Ryan is not living at the Cohen's house anymore and is said to be doing some late night cage fighting. Summer has gone off to college in Rhode Island where she is now fighting for different causes associated with the envirorment. While at college Summer meets a boy name Che who is an environmentalist, Che is played by Chris Pratt (from Everwood). Chris Pratt will be in six-episodes this season. Also in this episode you will meet one more new character, 16 year old Eric Ward (Luke's Brother). In the season opener Kaitlin (Marissas Sister) and the Eric are friends and go to Newport plaza (mall) to study and get high. Later on in the episode Kaitlin and the Eric go to a party at the beach where she leaves him stranded in a car. Sandy has returned to the public defenders office. Kirsten also makes an appearance in this episode trying to get Seth add something to a care package she is sending Ryan.The Gringos
Ryan leaves Orange County to put an end to his turmoil the only way he knows how, but comes up empty on his search. Meanwhile, Seth acts like a jackass and finds some new friends in Mexico who help him find what he is looking for. Kaitlin and Julie are forced by the schools dean to work together on Harbors clothing drive, and Julie is ostracized by the Cohens when they discover what she has been up to. And Taylor drops in unannounced on Summer and the truth comes out as Summer continues separating herself from everything Orange County. Special Guest Star: Chris Pratt. The Cold Turkey
It's Thanksgiving morning at the Cohen house and the family is still dealing with what happened in Mexico. Sandy makes a deal to help Volchok but lets Ryan intervene and finally settle the score. As Summer packs to come home to be with her family and Seth, she wonders if she can deal with Newport. Meanwhile, Julie can't deal with Kaitlin or Dr. Roberts and finds herself alone for most of Thanksgiving.The Metamorphosis
Ryan accompanies Taylor to a meeting with a French-speaking lawyer. Most of the scene will be in French with English subtitles. It seems that she got married with a French man named Henri-Michel and now wants to divorce. Via his lawyer, her husband demands that she comes back to France and says he doesn't want to divorce. The lawyer says that to be legal in France, one of the parties must have been unfaithful or both must agree to divorce... Seth visits Summer at Brown. He is not allowed in a town meeting because he is not a student. Kaitlin along with Brad and Eric Ward meet a man in a sketchy parking lot in order to get fake IDs. Che and Seth will see the inside of a jail cell. Taylor tries to patch things up when she and Ryan split.. Sandy goes to a jewelry store to return a ring in exchange for something his wife will like better. Summer pretends to work for a newspaper in order to get in the room where an event is taking place. Kirsten goes to the doctor as she has been nauseous, had headaches, and has been feeling exhausted for a few weeks now. Is Kiki pregnant, only time will tell.
Case of the Franks
While Taylor comes up with a plan to make things right between Ryan and his Dad, Julie continues to move things forward with Bullit. But when Julie and Frank run into each other in front of Ryan and Taylor, their secret is apparent. Meanwhile, after Seth and Summer get a psychic reading, Summer wonders if she and Seth are right for each other. And when Kaitlin discovers that Ryan and Taylor are playing Cupid to get Julie and Frank together, she goes to extreme lengths to get her mom to like Bullit but who will Julie choose?The Shake Up

The End Is Near
Taylor and her mother are in San Diego looking to buy a house that looks exactly as their old house. Julie and Kaitlin are not seeing eye to eye, which may cause the latter to run away. Ryan visits his brother and tells him about a safety deposit box their father kept for them. Summer and Seth go to a rabbit ranch. The Cohens are trying to get their house back in shape.
