Heartland Songwriters Association Of Kentucky

About Me

We are one of the only active songwriter's associations in the Commonwealth of KY, and are now starting our second decade. The HSAOK's primary goal is to support area songwriters, and to promote original music. Our membership is open not only to songwriters, but to performers, and to people who are interested in supporting original music as well. All types of music are welcome.The HSAOK Mission Statement:To uphold the highest standards and principles of the musical arts by promoting, encouraging, and fostering interest in songwriting and music at all levels of talent, as well as raising public interest in original music.The HSAOK meets the first Tuesday of each month at The Mulberry, located at 117 N. Mulberry Street in Elizabethtown, KY at 7 pm. Our meetings are free and open to the public. There is an annual membership fee of $15 to join. The business meeting lasts about an hour and is followed either by an informal open mic where the members and guests perform songs to be critiqued by those in attendance, or there may be special programs covering topics of interest including: Marketing Songs, Copyrights, Performance, Songwriting techniques, and more...The HSAOK also hosts Songwriter's Showcases in which members perform their original material.In addition the HSAOK has produced and recorded five Songwriter's Compilation CDs.
