Heron Tha Don, the Bronx native, first generation American is a rising new arrival on the hip-hop scene. His stimulating gritty and inviting lyrics are accredited to the exceptional songwriting skills he displays. This artist depicts life experiences, social conditions and pride in his rhymes. The staunch distinctive east coast style with and R&B flavor and reggae undertones represent Heron's hometown and Jamaican heritage. Heron has accomplished the unique task of incorporating old school and modem hip-hop into a rare blend of something refreshing yet nostalgic. The experience of hanging around his neighbor Slick Rick's camp left a lasting impression on Heron. He became an avid fan of Slick Rick, KRS-One and Public Enemy. Due to Heron's rebellious ways, he spent several pre-teen years in hard core Kingston. The time spent there was passed by with writing and rhyming with various elite members of the underground West Indian community. After his stint he came home to the suave flow of Jay-Z, Biggie and Big Pun; and was also influenced by the controversial messages of Tupac, Nas, and The Fugees. Heron was intrigued and motivated to incorporate a similar energy portrayed by Busta Rhymes into his music. These veterans influenced him to develop as a true lyricist whose style is to make a point and execute it effortlessly. The transformation of four decades into one powerful era is this musician's priority; hip-hop is not just music, it is his culture, his destiny, his way of life."Being an East Coast representative, I made a calculated decision to approach the industry by preserving the already pristine quality of hip-hop and adding my twist on it. I am not here to change, but enhance the hip-hop world."Heron is now signed to Urban Gold Music/Sony and his album will be in stores soon
