The wallpaper image on this site is of the ORION NEBULA captured by Hubble. The Orion Nebula (also known as M42) is almost entirely consisted of hydrogyn. M42 is located at a distance of about 1,500 light years away from Earth, and is estimated to be 30 light years across (thats a big cloud). The nebula resides as the middle star of Orions sword. Personally, I find it interesting that to the naked eye it apears to be a star, when in fact its a stellar nursery where new stars are formed. The peaking cloud has a temperature ranging up to 10,000 K. The youngest and brightest stars we now see in the Orion Nebula are thought to be less than 300,000 years old, and the brightest may be only 10,000 years in age. Thats very recent when you consider that the dinosaurs have been extinct for over 120 million years.
