Well I grew up in the little town of freehold New Jersey. Got my break in Asbury Park NJ where id play in bars like the famed Stone Pony. Released my first cd Greetings from Asbury(1973) and that didnt do as well as i hoped (at the time) First big hit was Born to Run which gave me much fame. I was even featured on the cover of the times and newsweek at the same time something only political figures did. I put together a little band u might be familiar with The E-street band which consists of Clarence Clemons, Steve Van Zandt, Danny Federici, Roy Bittan, Garry Tallent and Max Weinberg. A couple of years later Van Zandt had left the band and was replaced by Nils Lofgren. Then of course came Born in the U.S.A which had 7 hit singles. After a two year tour we recorded tunnel of love and i married th love of my life pattie scialfa who joined the band in 82. I then took a sepreate course and broke up the band in 89 to have a solo carrer. I put out Human Touch and Lucky Town. In 1992 i did a "unplugged" mtv concert. After winning an Academy Award for streets of philadelphia I released a greatest hits album and released The Ghost of Tom Joad. I recieved my greatest award when i was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999. Shortly after i reformed the E-street band(with bot Lofgren and Van Zandt) that lasted until mid 2000. In 2002 I released The Rising which was the first cd i released with the band since Born in the USA. After an amazing tour i took some time off and I am now releasing a new cd which is called Devils and Dust (2005) with a tour to follow.
