Runyon Ave. isn't a crew you can hop in and out of. It isn't a BRAND that can be marketed for YOUR personal profits. It isn't something you can "FALL-BACK" on, something you "SPEAK" of when you need to feel "OFFICIAL". It's more than music and bigger than rap.
Runyon Ave. is a way of life. It's the struggle many of us strive so hard to crawl out of. It's the hustle you CLAIM you possess, the grind it's KNOWN for. It's the murder of your closest friend on the same block we put in our raps. It's the home of the "FUCK DAT NIGGA!". So don't be surprised if you hear me say, "FUCK DAT NIGGA!". I'm just speaking the truth.
Over the past 3 years, I've lost many friends to both DEATH and DISHONESTY. They're both in the same, since a "DISLOYAL, BITCH-MADE FAGGOT" means more DEAD to me than ALIVE. The most painful was a close female friend I lost to domestic violence. On the day we were suppose to be celebrating a NEW YEAR, she was fighting for her life. She died 6 days later in a coma. It just puzzles me how a person can inflict pain on a woman SO BEAUTIFUL. I dedicate every moment I'm awake to GAYLE, in hopes that I'll stop crying one day soon.
2009........... Nine is the number of change. Alot around the AVE. has changed. Alot of friendships have soured. Alot of relationships have turned to NOTHING. Some looked back and re-established business with past partners, while deserting those who looked to them for guidance and direction. Some moved forward to promote OFF-BRAND, becoming a SPOKESMAN so to speak. But since the AVE. was created BEFORE the rap glow, it STILL stands today.
2009............It's _________ year!!(you fill in the blank). The cliche' NEW YEAR phrase.
2009 is the YEAR OF KNOWLEDGE. The year to reflect on ALL past mistakes and LEARN from them. Apply them to your personal life and prevent those mistakes from happening again.
If you CHOSE to stay BLIND, that's your CHOICE. If you chose to surround yourself with those who only see you as a potential CONNECT or COME-UP, that's your choice. Even the individuals who've been LOYAL since the BEGINNING realize when LOYALTY isn't appreciated.
There's a few individuals who I'm forever in debt. Not because of what they've done for me, but because of who they are. Some showed to be true to heart, which is priceless in todays' vacillating society. I owe you for teaching me the value of LOYALTY. Some showed complete treachery and deceitfulness in the form of fake hugs and handshakes. I owe you also, for displaying the type of behavior and character you MUST stay away from if you ever plain to be at peace. I couldn't pay for life lessons certain people have taught me and for that, both friend and foe, I'm forever in your debt.
As a few words of wisdom, I'll say.................ACCEPT LIFE AND NOTHING ELSE.
