High Noon emerged from the ashes of Canadian punk band The Diodes (lead singer, Paul Robinson and John Catto, Guitars) and The Barracudas. (David Buckley and Steve Robinson, bass) Joined by Rick Zsigmond on drums the band devoloped a unique sound that still holds up today.
They formed in late 1983-85 and were regulars playing around the London scene including headlining The Embassy club and the infamous Marquee Club on Wardour St.
The band also recorded sessions for EMI which until now has never seen the light of day.
It was an exciting time for music in London. High Noon peaked playing an Anti Heroin charity gig at The Moonlight Club in West Hampstead supported by The Stone Roses which culminated in a Jam session including High Noon The Stone Roses and Pete Townshend playing the songs , Substitute and The Kids are Alright.
Someone actually has a video of this and I would love to get my hands on it for a future upload. Hey thanks to Steve we now have a photo of the gig up... any more???
Enjoy the site!!!
We will be uploading new material and photos as we dig them out.
Cheers!!!!!
