The Color Purple, Akeelah and the Bee, the Pursuit of Happiness, and Pride are some of my favorites. I enjoy all positive Black “non-stereotypical†movies although I can’t forget the classics like Juice, New Jack City, Friday and my new favorite American Gangster.
**The Suze Orman Show**, news, Martin, Living Single, Creflo Dollar, Joyce Meyer, Paula White, That’s So Raven, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, The Proud Family, and just about anything on the History, Discovery and Discovery Health Channels.
The Mis-education of the Negro, The Richest Man in Babylon, Reposition Yourself, The Willie Lynch Letter, For Colored Girls Who have Considered Suicide and The Bluest Eye just to name a few. I also enjoy any other books dealing with financial freedom, autobiographies of people who have achieved great things, the plight of black folks and other people of color, the effects of Europeanized beauty standards on Black women, natural hair, health & wellness, and becoming a better person.
All the people of yesterday and today who fought and who are still fighting for the rights of Black folk (most of these rights people take for granted today, like reading and going to school). Mom & Dad of course.
