Big Active

Big Active is a London based design studio that believes in creative networks. Our aim is to produce creative design and commercial art based upon ideas with an accessible common touch. The wider picture of Big Active includes a number of associate image makers - illustrators and photographers, who are represented under the Big Active 'umbrella'. This visual synergy creates a dynamic and proactive creative environment.  

Big Active have produced numerous high profile music campaigns, branding and packaging for acts such as Goldfrapp, Athlete, Garbage, Futureheads, Basement Jaxx, Sugababes and most recently Snowpatrol, Keane and Beck. Their music work has won much critical acclaim and has been featured in many design awards and exhibition events worldwide. Book design credits include David Bailey's 'Chasing Rainbows', Jocelyn Bain Hogg's photo-documentary on London's gangster underworld - 'The Firm', and Deidre O'Callaghan's much acclaimed 'Hide That Can'. Throughout the years Big Active have also gained a reputation for distinctive magazine design. Editorial art direction highlights have included tours of duty for fashion magazines including the influential 'Scene' and the rebirth of 'Nova'.

These highly collaborative areas of art direction have led Big Active to form close working relationships with many like minded visual conspirators. And this association of interest inspired the formation of Big Active's creative management operation. The current line up of Big Active commercial artists and photographers include: Sanna Annukka, Jasper Goodall, Kate Gibb, David Foldvari, Kristian Russell, Genevieve Gauckler, Kam Tang, Will Sweeney, Parra, Jody Barton, Mat Maitland, Simon Henwood, Vania Zouravliov, Rachel Thomas, Vava Ribeiro, Erwan Frotin and Estelle Hanania.
