Born September 4, on the island of Trinidad, the creation of music within Xcess' mind had already been established. In the year of 2002, Xcess began discovering his inner talents which motivated him to pursue his musical ambitions. He began composing music within the styles of Reggae and Dancehall going on to Hip Hop aswell. In doing so, he started building a firm foundation within the industry.
Discovered by the young, talented artists the HeadTurnaz, he acquired a stronger inspiration to continue believing in himself; and expanding his musical abilities by becoming the fourth addition to the group. While in the HeadTurnaz, Xcess brought the Reggae element into the every-day-HipHop routine, immediately making the change noticable within the local scene.
Apart from being a rapper, Xcess has an exceptional ability of speaking through beats. If you listen to any instrumental that has been made by Xcess then you hear a series of twists. You never know what to expect when it comes to his beats. They're not just average, in his mind: "You don't need a hot lyric to make the song hot, it's the beat. If the beat isn't overwhelming, it's just not hot." His desire to be different has driven to the edge of making beats that none has matched thus far.
