About Me

Welcome to Roots n Ruckus! A Roots Music Review every Wednesday, 9:30 PM at Jalopy Theatre in Red Hook, Brooklyn.
"a do it yourself ethos... a really enjoyable evening, i would've stayed longer."
-From "Nate Chinen on the Roots Music Scene in New York mp3",
February 29, 2008 NEW YORK TIMES
"These kids are creative, they have a huge knowledge of music, they write good songs and they don’t stick to “just old-time” or “just blues,” they have a healthy general approach. This is the regular gig to go to for real deal folk music in New York City. Hosted by Feral Foster and featuring a rotating group of excellent musicians and performers. Jalopy is a great place to hang out. Laid back, good cheap beer and wine, plus coffee and tea. Come and be a regular!"
Eli Smith of Down Home Radio
There is no cover charge for the show.
