CARBON BACKGROUND
CARBON was established back in 2000 by dj/producer Insight as a bar residency
in Riki Tiks, Brighton, UK covering all styles of drum and bass.
The night became popular and the first club event was staged in 2001.
Having to take a break from events, Insight, with friends Unseen, Voytek
& Absent decided the scene was missing a drum and bass night representing
the more underground sounds.
So the step was taken and the relaunch of CARBON finally happenned in April 2004.
Because of the competition in Brighton is so fierce, the night had a slow start,
but with artists such as an unknown Cyantific, Klute and Spirit, CARBON was
already showing it's diversity in representing different corners of the drum and
bass spectrum.
Since then, almost four years later, CARBON has now established itself as
'THE' forward thinking drum and bass event in Brighton, and is gaining national,
and occasionally global, recognition and support. And with the addition on new
residents Chris PROLIX, Escher, Kosine, X-Nation, Absent, Barney Trouble, Trim...The standard is being set higher and higher.
It's sometimes regarded as the place to go to hear what's next in drum and bass,
but really it's just good drum and bass, good positive atmosphere and pure vibes.
