"Mushu are an acoustic driven Sydney band. Musically, their songs create an earthly and progressive mood but contain enough acoustic/pop sensibility for you to sing along to. A ‘story-telling’ band that’s not afraid to continually evolve, lead singer Simone’s spontaneous expression of her own lyrics expanded within the crowd and the vibe. Very easy on the ear, this unique group takes influence from rock, folk, instrumental and progressive bands. Open minds, in terms of song writing, have seen the inclusion of strings, keys, resonating bells, djembe and harmonica, in songs such as in ‘Helium’ and ‘Soldiers’. The explorative lead guitar is always anchored by the warmth of the vocals, so you can either sit there and enjoy the shivers up your spine or immerse yourself in music made by a collection of people that truly love what they do.
