Some of you may be aware that 4 former 45's members recently reunited on Phil's 50th birthday to play a couple of numbers including 'couldn't believe a word' for the first time in 24 years. See the blog above entitled 'semi-reunion' for lots of photos (courtesy of our senior 45's correspondent, Helen). Here's to Paul & John getting in touch and going for a full reunion in the not too distant future - we don;t want to have to wait for Phil's 60th!
Seeing as we have some very recent photos of the band, both from the reunion and Paul's publicity shots for his Police tribute band, we thought it was time for some 'then & now' action. John has really embraced his new Brazilian lifestyle!

Back in the early 80's on the South London pub circuit one band stood out from the crowd. The 45's were superb buskers, consumate live performers, outstanding songwriters. Recorded one single for Stiff, the legendary 'couldn't believe a word', infamous as being the lowest selling Stiff single ever. This was indeed a travesty as they were a fine, fine band, loved by hundreds of devoted fans. They could well have been one of the defining true pop acts of the decade. But this wasn't to be - they decided to split in 1983 - little more than 5 years after their inception.
