The band started off at the very beginning of the new Millenium in the South of Portugal,Algarve. The line up of this (then) Gore Metal band consisted of Bob (g, v), ex- In Tha Umbra / ex- Bowelrot; Felix(g, v), ex- Lycanthropia / ex- AKF; Jorge (b), ex- Infernal Cross; and Dolf (d).
In April that same year, thefirst demo tape, "Dislimbed And Stuffed With Maggots", was recorded.
Meanwhile, Felix (g, v) left the bandto concentrate on Lycanthropia full time. Two Brutal gigs followed the demo's edition. Afterwards, Jorge (b) alsoleft the band, leaving Bob (g, v) and Dolf (d) on their own. The search for a bass guitar and guitar player started.Ex- Hecatomb Alberto (g) was recruited and the rehearsals started to gain regularity again. After meeting at a gig,the band also recruited ex- Grog Marco (b). Rehearsals kept going until Marco (b) was abruptly forced to leave theband for personal reasons. João (b) took his place, and rehearsals went on until Summer 2001, when the band startedfacing some inactivity in terms of recordings, gigs and even rehearsals, all of these related in some way to thedistance between rehearsal place and hometown of two of the members.
The band resolved to suspend activityuntil Halloween 2002, when suddently a demo CD, "Through Flesh Slides The Blade", was released, officially makingthe band active again. Recorded and produced by Bob (g, v), this demo was the rotten smell of things to come.Despite being recorded by just one person, this last demo captured the feeling of what the band was living at themoment. Having listened to the demo CD, MurderRekords picked up the band, and turned the demo CD into MCD-R,limiting its edition to 300 copies.
Following the edition of the MCD-R, gigs were played with sessionbassist Abhor (b) (Deep Odium) and drum machine. Later on, the band continued as a three-piece, with Artur (d)joining the band as a full time member, playing a few more gigs around the country.
The Head Hunter Fest IIgig in October 2004 had the bass played by Andy (b). The only two official members after Head Hunter Fest II wereBob (g/v) and Artur (d), with BKD. (g) (In Tha Umbra, ex-Bowelrot) handling the guitars on gigs (no bass guitar ongigs).
In April 2005, Fungus finds a full-time bass player: former session member Andy (b). In 2006, Fungusrecruits Perverter (v) (Deep Odium) for vocal duties, turning him into an official full-time member of the band. This line-up has already shown itself in four gigs before Halloween 2006 and has now started working on new songsand on a recording, and will probably not set foot on a stage until 2007.
Now in 2009, a new MCD called"Extermination Dantesque" will be released during the Spring. The line-up is also stronger than ever, with a newguitar player called Ângelo (Neurotic). Be aware. Fungus will be destroying your town soon...
