The Durango Bluegrass Meltdown is one of the nation's premier bluegrass festivals, specializing in up and coming national bands, renowned regional bands, and popular local bands. The festival focuses on traditional bluegrass music and instrumentation. Located in Durango, Colorado, the festival is held typically the second weekend in April of each year. 2009 will mark the 15th year of the festival. The venues are three indoor downtown Durango locations, each with a capacity of approximately 300 people. The festival starts on Friday night and goes thru late Sunday afternoon. The festival includes after hours jamming, specialized workshops, genre-specific dancing and much, much more.
