Her acoustic rock ballads can melt the heart of any Grinch.She developed her love of music in 1995 when she joined a classic rock cover band, while in high school. “That was the year when music became a healer and lifesaver for my sanity,†she explains.Meilinger performed in other bands before joining her next serious project, a folk-rock band called Earth to Joe. During this time, she began to teach herself guitar and practiced daily for two-to-four hours a day. She eventually left Earth to Joe and joined the nine-piece soul-rock outfit Cory Phillips’s Superlove from 2005 until 2007.She took time off perfecting her chops and made her debut in September 2007 as SteFM. She has performed around the Los Angeles area in popular venues such as Genghis Cohen, The Cat Club, The Rainbow Bar & Grill and O’Brians.Her songs are deeply personal and she never fakes her emotions live or on record. Her songs “are drawn from tough break ups,†she explains, “and the experiences of suddenly losing my Brother and Father when I was a teenager. Music has been an outlet, a release, and a healer for me.â€SteFM will be releasing her 9 song debut album in the Summer of 2009!
