Self tought Guitarist/Percussionist , dabbling in computer music and other interesting sounds.
Ethnic music has always been part of me , I admire its purpose and how its integrity is noble and very rarely compromised by money , fame and other materialistic distractions.
A few years ago, I very luckily, landed amongst a small group of very inspiring friends, musicians and other thinkers, living in the Witshire area...
These people and their talent, the Magic brews, and the Mystic surroundings abundant in this area, have inspired me with tons of ideas for projects and I have finally found some time to put down some of the ideas that have been haunting me ...
My first project here in Wiltshire was an Originals Rock Band , called
Ellipsis. This band was created just for fun and we never gigged or published any of our tracks! We recorded it all on a 4 track with some Mics, Live and with little rehearsing, sometimes it was Jazzy other times Metal or Stoner like Rock... no definition is true to its sound. (wanna hear it? ask me!)
My second project in this area, was The Gabby Young Collective.
A 4 piece band , backing the super talented and Super Friend Gabby Young!
This was a Folk...ish outfit , and we gigged a lot all over England
(including "The Troubadour", " The Bedford in Balham " and "The Clapham Grand" in London!)
After a few changes in the Original line-up, came the time to recording an E.P. (Out of Bed), which we did in less than a week+production with the help of the very talented Mr. PHI-YAAN-ZEK!
We then went on a U.K. tour for 5 weeks ( 34 gigs ) in April !
On return from the Tour, Gabby kept on booking us more gigs, and thus we played throughout the summer in various gigs, including various festivals such as Bournemouth Live, Secret Garden party , and Sunset Ridge festival!
At the end of 2006, some health complications temporarily stopped Gabby from playing live , and consequently Gabby went back to the studio, where she was to record her latest Album "Mole"! This was a turning point for all of us, and even tho most of the band members focused on other projects, Gabby carried on relentlessly to write , record and produce more music!
Occasionally playing with Gabby and doing some session work for her new album, I started creating music from home , and experimenting with computer music and other sounds!
The Objective is perhaps to blend Ethnic music with "homegrown" Electronic sounds, creating low-tempo grooves that would make the listener feel like SKINNING UP A FAT HERBAL ONE !!!...
