I have a wonderful job. I am the director of operations for Second Helpings, Inc. Second Helpings is a food rescue, job training and hunger relief agency in Indianapolis. We prepare and deliver 2900 meals every day to fifty other social service agencies. We train unemployed adults for careers in the foodservice industry.
To balance out the warm and fuzzy feelings I get from my job, I waitress one night a week at the fabulous Red Key Tavern. The Red Key is a great neighborhood bar, owned for fifty-eight years by a curmudgeonly ninety-one year old WWll POW.
I also write an observational column about music for the Broad Ripple Gazette and music previews for NUVO newsweekly.
