Some people have more options then others. Some people have different options then others. But it’s not the options but the choices we make that define who we are and what we stand for. It is the positions and situations we put ourselves into or take ourselves out of, which shows what we think, tolerate, accept and deny. Based on our personal integrity and morality, core believes, TRUE feeling and past experiences those decisions are made. Only in the high pressure of making the right moral or ethical decision the actual character of a person is truly revealed. Through the hard decisions and difficult choices the true friendship is tested. It is not defined by time or commonality. There are two sides to every coin. Just like we define ourselves by whom we associate ourselves with as a saying goes: “Tell me who is your friend and I will tell you who you are”, we also identify ourselves by who we disassociate ourselves from. Therefore the flip side of the coin becomes: “Tell me who your enemies and I will tell you who you are.” In retrospect let’s not forget about the edge of the same coin. It might be difficult to stand on however it is possible and that is where “the exception to ever rule” and at the same time “the exception defines the rules” both come into play. There are times in life that all we can live and wish for is the exception and hope to be proven of its existence.
