About Me

Dizzy Dizzy MK II started in 1996 when Dizzy Dizzy couldnt get the job done. It's hilarious story how we came to be that left many a feeling hurt and many more heads a banging. Various line-ups could or couldn't rock, some shows sucked, some shows were god like. Our worst show had to have been opening for UK Subs in 2000. 1 year later we redeemed ourselves opening for Vice Squad, a show I still get props on. Special thanks to The Overprivileged for making this such a special show for me, you guys gave me such an opportunity by simply appearing on the bill with us that night that I will never be able to express in words how grateful I am that we had that moment in time where our 2 bands stood side by side to completely different crowd reactions, THANK YOU. That 2001 line-up will fondly be remembered as our most powerful by me, with a focus more on the fast punk than anything else. Anyhow, we put out a live CD 2 years later, you should write for instructions on buying a copy. It's a split affair with England's THE BLOOD, and really portrays the '99 line-up in a good light, dare I say better than we actually were then?We just appeared on Kotumba Records' Macc Lads tribute COVERED IN CRAP, show them some support for taking a chance on a specialty audience & deserving cult band, and buy that shit.

Band Members: Sean every line up on vocals. Former members include The Condor on guitar, Steve Terrell handled guitar at 1 point when we rehearsed up on Georgia Ave. Charlie played guitar at different points. Our last guitarist was Andy. I'm pretty sure we had more than 12 bass players listed but in order that I can remember they've been Rich, Charlie, Ben, John, Vance, Andy, Jay (guest for a session), Josh, Ron, Paul, Fogus & Joey. Our last drummer was Gary. I'd say Josh is the current guitarist as much as anyone since he & I will be recording under the Dizzy Dizzy name in 2006. Finally, a big debt is owed to Steve for his bass & vocal overdubs in '06 as well as the extensive sessions he's recorded for the band from 1998 to present.
Influences: Different 90s eras of the band pulled from different corridors of the world of rock & punk rock. We were probably more boring to the punk crowds when we were whipping out covers by Steve Miller Band & Freddy Fender. And we just plain blew when we opened for UK Subs, and half the band did a skit about ordering lunch in rubber masks. In our heyday, we recorded covers by Judge, Screeching Weasel, Black Flag, The Accused, Macc Lads & Sham 69 with a view to releasing them on assorted tributes. A few of them did infact see the light of day, and even where we weren't big fans, as was definitely the case with Judge, Screeching Weasel & The Accused, we learned from the songs, and gained new appreciations. I can honestly say I really see those bands in a new light. These days, i'm listening to alot of Tom T Hall, Johnny Mathis, Axewitch, Rush, Johnny Kidd&the Pirates, Secret Affair, Software (K-Tel/Headfirst jazz fusion), Kraan, Frog Eyes, Empire, Nocturnal Zoo, Infa-Riot, Cockney Rejects, Five-Eight, The Bad Plus, Steve Hackett, Gong, Johnny Horton, Eddie Bond, Ayre Rade, Trouble Funk, and a ton of new releases.
