You often find me playing baritone or tenor saxophone with some great r&b/soul/ska combo like Knock-Out Greg, Trickbag or The Beat From Palookaville. Sometimes even backing up Sven Zetterberg, Mike Sanchez or John Nemeth... (track 4 in the jukebox)I use to play with some jazz combos but I..m afraid they have been a bit sleepy lately...
I'm also one of the producers behind THE EMERSONS (checkout on friends below and track 5 in the jukebox). Soul/r&b/hiphop/nujazz or whatever you want to call it...
Jakob Norgren Big Band Splash is my major project as a composer/arranger. The band was started in 2004 and involves 18 musicians and 4 singers. Track 2-3, 6-7 in the jukebox here on MySpace are from our latest CD "East of the arctic circle" and include a lot of electro-acoustic sounds integrated with the big band sound. . .
Big Band Splash also has a big repertoire of soul/r&b featuring singers Marino Valle and the Bondeson sisters (Slaptones/Baskery). Track 1 in the jukebox is a mix of some of the tunes we recorded on our debut album "Wide Meadow Soul", with guest vocals by Sven Zetterberg on two songs.
