Who is A.K.? The New Up-Coming 20 year old Hip-Hop artist, is setting a new standard in the Seattle area with his unique style, catchy phrases and different approach to the hip-hop genre. Making a name through a strain of mix tapes, the young artist caught the attention of local producers and artists, as well as building a fan base of people who like his grimey style and witty character.
At the age of 13 A.K. wrote and produced his first mix tape album “…A Single Thought†which there was only few copies pressed and sold. At the age of 16 he released his 2nd mix tape album “The Blockumentary†which fell back to back of a 6 month span with the release of “Hater Proof†at 17, which ultimately showed a major increase in listeners and buyers.
In July of 2006 A.K. Crossed paths with a child hood friend and local up and commend writer/Producer/artist L-jay. Over the course of the next year A.K. has been working with some of the finest producers in Seattle such as Shurlock of Lamintra ent., As well as L-jay Himself of Jakoevi ent. And Swayside Finest Productions. Working on his debut Album “Rise Of the Living Dead†set to release summer of 2009. That will feature a nice cast of artists throughout the northwest.
With many shows under his bealt includeing clubs such as Chop Suey In Seattle along with El Corazon, The Nectar Lounge, Neumos, The Jimmy Hendrix Electric Lounge, Studio 7, The Q Cafe, Hells Kitchen as well as many Colleges, High Schools and theaters. With The Buzz After The Release of The Grimey Mixtapes Vol.1: The Experience Febuary ‘08, so we can look forward to seeing an exciting and established run which isn’t looking to die down any time soon.
