About Me
S B LONDON = TECHNOCRAFT:
S B LONDON is a showroom of industrial art,
showcasing works which inform, inspire, and relieve.
TECHNOcraft Objects are works which are made with
industrial materials and/or methods. These works
make a practice of finding the commonalities between
seemingly disparate elements, thereby revealing delicate
narratives. Subtly stirring, the fragile balance between
opposites and the relationships that exist between them,
us, and each other is questioned and illustrated.

PAST EXHIBITIONS:
“TRANSformation: Nature Decoded†from a light box mosaic to a bas-relief.
The same pattern now takes the shape of a series of cast cement tiles
where the pattern dimensionally takes form and projects out from the background.
"TRANSformation: Nature Decoded"
These works continue a dialogue with "nature as data."
18 light boxes illuminate a microscopic leaf pattern piece
by piece. Organized as a mosaic, the light boxes each contain
a bit of the microscopic leaf pattern, working together to convey
a larger tapestry, and thereby invoking further study and reflection.
"We have taken pictures of the brain thinking, and this is what they look like,"
remarked a Cal-Tech Neuroscientist after seeing this microscopic
leaf pattern. S B LONDON's projects make links between seemingly
disparate elements. This project is the product of investigating
microscopic and macroscopic natural patterns while experimenting
with poetry, materials, and graphics.
"Balancing opposites, a sense of calm takes hold.
Resonating with links to the solar system, nature,
and the body, the calmness deepens.
Echoing quietly into the idea that we are
essentially of the same thing, and a part of each other,
the calmness lingers."
STILL ON VIEW:
"ESCALAtion: The Birth of an Object:
"ESCALATion: The Birth of an Object." These works are the second
installment in a series, which develops forms found in
"RESISTance: Prints of Microscopic Patterns" into sculpture.
The cement objects are a fusion of contrary forces: the microscopic
is magnified, the hidden is revealed, the interior is reversed
to exterior, and the background becomes foreground.
Creating works that are at once complex and minimal, this emerging
artist has an inventive way of combining and abstracting a variety
of techniques. The intuitive objects are the result of an exploration
and experimentation with microscopic patterns and the sub-conscious.
Applying a fresh approach to these mysterious worlds transforms
these innate shapes into characters performing a non-verbal drama.
Touching on the themes of tension and trust, these graceful assemblies
are poised with elegance depicting familiar yet wordless narratives.
Nature's simple, sophisticated, and yet soothing qualities are at
the root of "ESCALATion: The Birth of an Object.""RESISTance: Prints of Microscopic Patterns"
Our first exhibition is an intuitive exploration of microscopic
patterns from nature. This series is the result of experiments
with a sea urchin shell. 14 works on paper with printing ink illustrate
poetic landscapes. The fresh and simple results depict parallels
between micro and macro, biological and technological, and patience
and resistance.Referring to the natural world to illustrate universal truths
enhances the significance of this work. New findings prove sea urchins
have a vast lifespan, surpassing that of virtually all terrestrial
and most marine animal species. Just as the sea urchin simultaneously
depicts confrontation and continuity, this rhythmical investigation
of pattern, color, and space are in dialogue; allowing for a moment
to pause, observe, and reflect through this subtle yet powerful work.
