Born and raised on the northeast side of San Antonio, TX, Trey Da Rapper realized at an early age that he wanted to be an MC. Growing up in a single parent home and being surrounded by a music loving family, Trey was nurtured on all types of music.†I experimented with making pause raps on my stereo with a Radio Shack microphone†says Trey of his early years of recording.In 1998, Trey joined forces with a local producer named Mike Davis and formed a crew called I.V. (Illest Visions). "We had a different sound in Texas at that time, and screw music was heavy, so getting shows were hard for us." After recording several songs at Melody Ranch and Rhapsody Street Studios, the
group parted ways. With few options on the table at the time, Trey enlisted in the United States Army in May of 1999.
. .......................................THE ARMY...............................................The military term was not only a learning but a growing experience. While stationed at FT Sill, Ok. Trey met another soldier named Marchant Decatur also known as the Dragon MC. They hit it off right away, spending any free time writing and recording songs. After meeting a few more cadet MC's the two formed Aftershock with four others. Aftershock took Oklahoma by storm, opening for such major artists as 8 Ball and MJG, DJ DMD, Digital Underground, Lil Flip, and Petey Pablo. The group also had four singles in regular rotation on the local radio stations

In 2002, after a 3 year military obligation, Trey returned to San Antonio and begin working with Pawly C and Pistol Pete, then called the Awnightas. The trio released Broken Silence a month after starting it and moved a few hundred cds in the streets but soon parted ways due to differences of opinion.†We were all just too different, and to set in our own ways", says Trey. Soon after, Trey met Big Slater a local rapper, manager, promoter, and former manager of Dope House/Universal artist South Park Mexican. "I learned alot of good and bad from the Slater situation and I met alot of people through him." One person that Trey met and developed a friendship with was local legend B.U. of 3rd Dimension and Strike Force. "B taught me that artist shit, how to be a real MC."In 2006 BU invited Trey to record in his newly established studio and in a month or two out came Ear 2 the Streets Volume 1 the mixtape."That was just me showing cats that I really spit."..................................................THE NOW....................................................
Not yet signed to a major label Trey is currently in Atlanta, Working for an independent label called Coastal Entertainment. He is also working with longtime partner Dragon MC as one half of the group Southern Fried Ice and are set to release their first full length album entitled CROWD CONTROL and Ear 2 the Streets Volume 2. "This is my life, I could never see myself doing anything else, and I love it."
