MyGen Profile GeneratorWe are Cupernicus, we're a melodic punk rock band from Taunton/Plymouth, in the SW of United Kingdom. We have a poppy sound to our music which is influenced by bands like The Clash, Ramones and the early days of Green Day and Rancid. At the same time Cupernicus are trying to keep our own style and experiment by combining different genres. The name Cupernicus means 'freedom of expression'. We wanted our music to sound free, not being tied to just one genre, so we thought of the random name of Cupernicus.We aren't shy of showing our political views and opinions about the world but do not base our music on these issues, giving us the freedom to sing and write about whatever we feel nessacary.We recorded a four track E.P in august of 2004, entitled 'Padded Cell', which is all of our own material. We recorded and mixed the CD in one day, with the help of Sound Base Studios in Wellington, Somerset. Weve also been in the studio recording and mixing for about the past year with the help of Nik Laker. We recorded mainly at Plymouth University, but in taunton at home whenever needed and whenever we had the time.
