Hey! So a bit about me....
I'm currently in my final year of Uni down in Southampton studying Merchant Ship Operations... People often give me blank looks when I tell them what course i'm doing so, basically its learning how to drive ships around the world. A course deffinetly not for the mathematically challanged... how I got to my fourth year I wonder myself sometime! Hopefully by the end of the course I'll have passed everything so that I can go back to sea as a 3rd Navigation Officer.
Spent the 3rd year of my course out on the waves, working on the container ships. Been really lucky and seen a lot of the world. It was a really good experience, apart from when it was rough and then it wasnt so great and before anyone asks, no I havnt been seasick yet... Probably just faited myself now!

Although I enjoy being at sea, I dont intend staying at sea for long after I graduate. My true career goal is to become a commerical airline pilot. I plan to stay at sea and earn some money and then head off to Oxford Air Training School to do my commerical airline pilots training course.
I plan to stay in touch with the sea if I can and try and work in my leave as a volenteer officer on the Sail Training Ships. I have spent a lot of time through GCSE's and A Levels working with disabled people, designing educational toys and learning aids to help make there learning easier.
Although I dont want to stay at sea, I see working on the tall ships being a good way for me to try and help the disabled and under privalaged to experience and visit some of the wonderful things and places that I already have.
As you might have already guessed from the course I am doing i'm into the outdoors and travelling.
Been adicted to the sea and water sports since I was about 10. The main sport is white water surfing kayaking, closely followed by windsufing, scuba diving and the occasional bit of waterskiing.
Back on dry land i'm into rock climbing, mountaineering and skiing. Main sport is rock climbing closely followed by skiing. Luckly home is just outside the Peak District National Park which has some of the best climbing in the UK and Europe! If you cant find me on the rock face then you'll find me on a pair of skis somewhere. Normally at the Snowdome in Tamworth or out in Europe. St. Anton and the Alberg range in Austria is my favourite skiing destination in the world so far. Hope to get out to Whistler and Jacksons Hole in the near future and maybe New Zealand one day.
