BIOGRAPHY
By absorbing life, experiencing the world around him, and processing it through his unique set of filters and lenses, Christian reflects back on us the best and the worst of modern society. His words, images, and music are unique, in-your-face, and raw but at the same time familiar, evoking memories and emotions from long ago. Even though he was raised in a large, loving, middle class family, Christian is no stranger to adversity, having overcome the pain of a broken home and gaining control of an adolescent eating disorder. Both the love and the pain of his youth are evident in his art; Christian's work is personal, it stirs the spirit, and it always leaves an impression.
Although his talent revealed itself much earlier, Christian began formal training in graphic art at Roy Miller High School in Corpus Christi, Texas. He continued his education by winning a scholarship to The Art Institute of Dallas, where he graduated in September 2004. In addition to his skill as a graphic artist, he is an accomplished musician, painter, videographer, writer, sculptor, designer, and undoubtedly more will be revealed as time goes by. His talents are largely self-acquired, springing from an apparently bottomless well of raw talent and inspiration.
Eschewing training outside of the graphic arts field, Christian looks inward for creativity and inspiration. He is fiercely independent both personally and artistically and he is driven to create. Christian pushed himself mercilessly while a student at The Art Institute, approaching the brink of physical exhaustion to produce work that far exceeded the scope of the assignment. His work frequently stirred controversy, assaulting the passions and emotions of his professors and peers.
His future is limitless; he is passionate, intelligent, and insightful. Christian's work will challenge you and if you pay careful attention, it will enlighten you, move you, and change you. As his friend and former teacher, I am delighted to have this opportunity to introduce you to Christian. You will never regret coming to know him.
