Rhythum, a Dallas, Tx native, grew up in Pleasant Grove. This was a hood with mean streets and its share of poverty. The 444 as it was called, never seemed to be a fit for Troy "Rhythum" Hicks. At a young age he knew he was destined to rise above all that was structured around him to hold young black men down, and take his place at the top with the rest of the stars. As a boy Rhythum studied various big time artists to no end. Eager to perfect his craft and one day transform himself into the ultimate entertainer, he practiced and spent many sleepless nights dreaming. Being a big Michael Jackson fan, Rhythum made for himself locally dancing and performing in various talent shows and community events receiving prizes, awards, and recognition, that only fueled his ambition even more to succeed. He later went on to receive an Applied Science degree for Music and Video Business, that placed him behind the scenes working as a roadie. His list of jobs included camera operating and doing sound for various concert tours and plays. He also tried his hand at movies, commercials, and jingles which led to producing. Troy Hicks, still a fan of Michael, and heavily influenced by such artists as Babyface, Teddy Riley, and R.Kelly, has now come into his own.
